Our story

Built from the ground up — literally.

Speqterra Consultants Ltd. was founded to bring a higher standard of geotechnical practice to BC. We believe that good engineering begins with listening — to the ground, and to our clients.

We work with residential developers, commercial builders, infrastructure owners, and municipal clients across Metro Vancouver and the Interior. Our team combines deep technical expertise with a direct, practical approach that keeps projects moving.

We are a growing firm committed to building long-term relationships with clients who value responsive, cost-conscious engineering over formulaic reports.

Investigation first

We don't fit the data to a pre-formed conclusion. Every investigation is designed to answer the specific questions your project needs answered — no more, no less.

Practical over conservative

Over-engineering is expensive. Under-engineering is dangerous. We aim for recommendations that are technically sound and genuinely cost-efficient — not padded with unnecessary factors of safety.

Responsive through construction

Our work doesn't end when the report is issued. We stay engaged through construction, providing RFI responses, field reviews, and change-order support so your project keeps moving.

Farshid Bateni, P.Eng.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Farshid brings over 20 years of geotechnical engineering experience across residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout BC. He founded Speqterra with a clear mandate: deliver the level of technical rigour and personal engagement that larger firms often struggle to provide on smaller and mid-scale projects.

His experience spans the full geotechnical project lifecycle — from borehole program design and laboratory interpretation through foundation design, shoring, and construction-phase support. He is a registered Professional Engineer with EGBC and APEGA.
